Catholic Priest or in general any Priest or Priestess is a person or an authority or a power who administers religious rites and handles the position or office of Priesthood. Since number of centuries, Priests exist in various societies and religions. People regard them as the means to get closer to God and Deities. Priests know the rites and rituals and have deep knowledge of various matters related with the specific religion and spiritual issues. In many religions, Priest take up full time carrier as Priest by studying the religious books. In some of the religions, Priesthood is inherited as a family line.

Catholic Priest is a vocation and not a job. It is not easy for anybody to become a Catholic Priest, as it requires intense preparations – mental, spiritual and physical – and soul searching. Becoming a Catholic Priest is like any other vocation that calls for deep studies, spirituality, being unmarried and many other specifics, dos and donts. A Catholic Priest must be incardinated by his Bishop or his major religious superior in order to engage in public ministry.
